We are very proud of our J4 footballers whose qualification for the ISA National 5-a-side finals earlier this year took them to the home of England football, St George’s Park.
A memorable day for the team began with an early start from Chester but nothing could dampen their spirits as they arrived at St George’s Park. Stepping on to the same pitches used for training by the men’s and women’s national teams is a moment they won’t forget, and a great way to round off a brilliant season for the boys.
Competing against 27 schools from across the country, the boys showed incredible determination and sportsmanship to finish fourth in their group, which secured them a place in the plate competition.
A close final against Crescent School resulted in victory for the opposition, and King’s ended the day as runners-up in the plate competition.
The team was accompanied to St George’s Park by Mr Spellman, who has been one of their coaches this season. He said: “I am so proud of how the team played today, they represented the school impeccably. Playing at the home of England football is a fitting end to their final season in Junior School and I am sure it’s a memory they won’t forget for a long time to come.”
