Gallery: Celebrating a love of reading on World Book Day

World Book Day is one of our favourite days of the year at King’s, giving us an opportunity to celebrate our love of reading and share our favourite books.

The day began with our traditional World Book Day costume parades in Willow Lodge and Junior School. Such an impressive array of books and characters were represented with Roald Dahl characters and Harry Potter proving a firm favourite across both schools.

Throughout the day, the whole school was buzzing with book-related fun.

When Miss Gardiner rang the special bell in Willow Lodge, children stopped, dropped and read a book wherever they happened to be. Children in Junior School enjoyed a very special whole-school read in the hall, and the Senior School library was transformed into a crime scene with teams of pupils racing against the clock to solve the murder!

Pupils of all ages also enjoyed the opportunity to swap their World Book Day tokens for a book at one of Miss Brooks’ pop-up book stalls around the school.
