Gallery: Illustration Club inspired by favourite artists

Throughout the Michaelmas term, pupils in J2 (year 4) illustration club have been taking inspiration from their favourite illustrators.

After studying the work of well-known children’s book illustrators such as Anthony Browne, Lauren Child, Quentin Blake and Terry Runyan, the pupils have worked hard to produce some fantastic pieces of their own work.

J2 teacher Mrs Parker runs the popular lunchtime club and has been very impressed with their illustrations.

She said: “We have looked at a variety of artists and the children have really enjoyed experimenting with the different styles of illustration .

“They have blown me away with their Charlie and Lola style self-portraits and their wonderful watercolour cats in the style of cat-obsessed Terry Runyan!”

Illustration Club will continue on Wednesday lunchtimes next term and all J2s are welcome to sign up.
