Junior athletes go for gold

Congratulations to all of our Junior School pupils who have represented the school at Athletics events this term.

King’s Juniors has a strong Athletics tradition and pupils have many opportunities to compete against other schools throughout the summer term.

In May, 20 athletes across all age groups ran in the Chester and District Cross Country, accumulating a fantastic 128 points for the school. The placings for this event haven’t yet been confirmed but we eagerly wait to hear if our runners have successfully defended the cross country title that we have held for the last five years.

In the Tri athletics, J3s and J4s raced well and returned to school with the trophy that has been held by King’s since 2014.

AJIS Athletics is the big competition of the year and Mr O’Neil was very proud of the pupils’ performance.

He said: “We returned from the AJIS Athletics with no less than five gold medals, 13 silvers and four bronzes. A fantastic achievement!

“We some amazing performances on both track and field, and I am proud of each and every one of our young athletes.”
