Junior School Prizegiving 2026 - The King's School Chester

Junior School Prizegiving 2026

Congratulations to this year’s Junior School prizewinners.

Across two ceremonies, held in Vanbrugh Theatre, parents, pupils and staff gathered to celebrate the achievements of our Junior School pupils.

Coming to the end of her first year as Head of Willow Lodge and Junior School, Mrs Dewhurst used her first Prizegiving event to reflect on the past year, thanking pupils, staff and parents for their unwavering support.

She said: “This year has been particularly special for me, as it marks my very first year leading this amazing school. Embarking on a new chapter of leadership brings vision and change, but it only succeeds when a community runs alongside you, and I have been incredibly lucky to have had so much support.”

For our J4 pupils and parents, the occasion marked the end of their time in Junior School, and Mrs Dewhurst wished them all the very best of luck for their bright futures: “It feels like only moments ago that the J4s and I were standing at the threshold of the autumn term, embarking on a brand-new chapter together.

“They are my very first J4 graduating year group, and they have redefined what leadershipenergy, and excellence look like at King’s.

It speaks volumes about this cohort of impressive young people that so many of their Willow Lodge and Junior School teachers chose to join their parents at Prizegiving to celebrate their success.”
