Junior School swimmers make a splash

On Saturday, 18 June, a group of J3 and J4 pupils travelled to Sheffield to take part in the Primary Schools’ National Swimming Championships.

Ten pupils qualified for the event, swimming in the girls’ and boy’s Medley, and the Freestyle relays.

The competition took place at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, with the boys qualifying for the B final in both relays, and the girls qualifying for the B final in the Medley relay.

Mrs Grove, who accompanied the swimmers, was very proud of their achievements.

She said: “This was a fantastic experience for these young swimmers who did themselves – and the school – proud competing against some of the top schools in the country.”
