Junior School swimmers are celebrating after a successful day in the pool on Friday, 1 December.
Following on from their success in the ISA North Swimming Gala earlier this term, four pupils represented the Junior School North Team in the ISA National Swimming Finals.
Held at the London Aquatics Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, the North team finished in second place overall with King’s returning to school with a total of five medals in the junior categories.
In his individual event, Henry El-Taha (RMMB) won first place with a time of 41.05 seconds, setting a new ISA record in the Year 6 boys 50m individual breaststroke.
Henry also took gold in the Year 6 boys medley relay, which he swam with King’s teammate Noah Jones-Walker (J4O).
Noah’s second gold came in the Year 6 boys freestyle relay, and Seren Graham (J2B) won second place in the Year 4 girls freestyle relay.
Jake Mitchell (J3D) swam in the Year 5 boys freestyle race, claiming fifth place in a competitive field.
The pupils were accompanied by their very proud Junior Swim Squad coaches, Miss Davies and Miss Chapman.
Miss Davies said: “To compete at the London Aquatics Centre is a wonderful opportunity and our pupils were fantastic representatives of The King’s School.
“We are delighted with the results, and we are both extremely proud of our swimmers and their achievements.”
