Congratulations to Alice Downey (L6WER) who recently took part in the British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO), achieving a Merit.
Alice qualified for the prestigious annual competition following a strong performance in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge last term.
Deputy Head of Maths, Helen Sugarman, congratulated Alice on her achievement.
She said: “Despite being new to the school in September, she did exceptionally in the Senior Maths Challenge, outperforming not only everyone in her year but also in the year above.
“She should be very proud of her achievement in the BMO; to achieve a Merit is fantastic.”
