King’s School Careers initiative

As school life begins to return to normal, we are looking to expand our careers provision at King’s.

Virtual Careers Fair

King’s alumni are engaged in a wide variety of careers that our students are likely to be interested in. With this in mind, we are looking to create a ‘virtual careers fair’ in which alumni record short videos of themselves discussing their chosen career.

As a guide, you could address the following questions:

1. What did you study after leaving King’s?
2. How did you get into [insert job area]?
3. What do you enjoy most about your role and why?
4. What do you find most challenging about your role and why?
5. What advice would you give to people getting started in your industry?

If you have anything else you would like to add then please do so. We are particularly interested in emerging job sectors and unusual career paths.

Work experience
We are also hoping to build up a record of alumni who would be willing to offer the following:

  • virtual work experience placements
  • In person work experience placements (when this is possible.)
  • A point of contact where students interested in your job area could get in touch if they have any specific questions

These placements would be entirely on your terms and you could determine the duration and activities undertaken.

Mentoring
If you are interested in becoming a mentor to a pupil interested in pursuing a particular career, please do get in touch.

We would be very grateful if you could let us know which of the above you would be willing to get involved with, by filling out the brief questionnaire below which will take no more than a minute of your time.
