Chester Races Alumnae Event - The King's School Chester

Chester Races Alumnae Event

On Saturday 13 June, a group of alumnae from across the King’s community enjoyed another fantastic day at Chester Races. With former pupils from the classes of 2007 through to 2023 attending, it was wonderful to bring together a range of year groups for the occasion.

As always, the Final Furlong provided the perfect setting for the day. Guests were welcomed with a glass of fizz before enjoying a delicious two-course carvery lunch. Later in the afternoon, a cheese board gave everyone the chance to continue catching up and relaxing while taking in the atmosphere, with drinks available throughout the day.

The weather was certainly on our side, remaining dry and bright and allowing everyone to make the most of both the racing and the spectacular views across the course. Excitement grew with each race as guests shared tips, cheered on their chosen horses and celebrated a few winners along the way. Whether they were backing a horse or simply enjoying the day, there was plenty of laughter and friendly competition throughout the afternoon.

Beyond the racing itself, the event was a wonderful opportunity for alumnae to reminisce about their time at King’s and share stories about where life has taken them since leaving school. It was especially lovely to see friendships rekindled and new connections formed between former pupils from different year groups.

Fiona Barrow (OKS 2007) said:

“I just wanted to pass on our thanks for hosting such a fabulous event. We all had such a lovely day catching up and trying to pick the winners! We look forward to hearing about any future events.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success. We look forward to welcoming many of you back next year for another day at Chester Races, and hopefully seeing some of you sooner at our upcoming King’s in the Capital event at Fortnum & Mason this November.
