Freja follows her Oxford dream

We were delighted to welcome Freja Davis (OKS 2021) back to King’s today.

Freja met with Head of Sixth Form, Mr Carter, who congratulated her on receiving an offer to study Geography at Hartford College, Oxford.

After missing out on an offer last year, Freja took the decision to take a year out and reapply.

She said: “I was naturally disappointed when I didn’t get an offer last year but Mr Carter was great and helped me to see the benefits of taking a year out so that I could try again.”

Freja, who joined King’s in the Lower Sixth, is grateful that the school continued to support her with her application.

Freja added: “It was so reassuring to know that I could still go to my former teachers for help and advice; Mrs Hollingworth gave me some good feedback on my personal statement and my geography teachers, Mrs Aldridge, Mr Prestshaw and Mrs McNabb were all really supportive.

“I was even able to come back to school to sit the TSA [Oxford admissions test].”

Mr Carter said: “We are all really pleased for Freja. She and her classmates faced so much uncertainty and it is great that she will now be following her dream of studying at Oxford.”

Since leaving King’s, Freja has completed an internship in London and she has been learning French. She is also preparing to travel through Central America and will leave for Panama at the end of this month.

Freja joins four of our current Upper Sixth students who have also been offered places at Oxford, and two who are holding offers at Cambridge:
