On Friday, 9 May the sun was out and excitement was in the air for our annual Alumnae day at Chester Races.
With the crowd buzzing, hooves thundering on the turf, and everyone dressed in vibrant outfits, it was the perfect setting for a memorable day.
For this group of alumni, it wasn’t just about the racing—it was a chance to catch up, swap stories, and enjoy each other’s company.
Amazing views of the track provided the backdrop for a fantastic meal in the Final Furlong where the group enjoyed a delicious spread of seasonal dishes. With everything from fresh seafood and tender meats to crisp green salads, it was veritable feast for all the senses.
As they tucked into their food, conversation flowed easily. There were plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments as the alumni looked back on their school days and caught up on where life had taken them since.
At its heart, the day was a reminder of how strong those school connections still are. No matter how much time had passed or how different everyone’s lives had become, the shared King’s experience brings all alumni together.
And let’s not forget the main event—the races! Excitement mounted with each race and it was wonderful to see the group cheering, placing friendly bets, and getting caught up in the thrill as the horses raced by. Win or lose, it was all about enjoying the experience together.
Abi Fisher (OKS 2004) and now a Willow Lodge parent commented: “Thank you for hosting a wonderful day at the races, we have felt very spoiled. The girls had a fantastic time and we even lucked out with the weather’’
The food, the laughs, and the chance to reconnect all add up to an unforgettable day at the races with old friends, and a golden opportunity to make new memories to add to the old ones.
