A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our second annual Curry and Quiz Night! Our first event of the academic year was fully-booked, and it was a delight to see so many enthusiastic quizzers enjoying a fun-filled night.
The evening kicked off with a selection of mouthwatering curries prepared by our catering team, with guests taking the opportunity to catch up with friends old and new over dinner.
After dinner, it was time to settle in for the quiz, expertly written and hosted by Dr. Ravi Jayaram (OKS 1985). Once again, he crafted a wonderfully diverse quiz that kept the competition fierce at the top!
The picture round had participants puzzled, particularly concerning for local residents as this was a round all about the highway code! The Chester round proved a big hit with the teams but many quizzers were kicking themselves when the answers were read out having second-guessed themselves and missed out on the points!
In total, 75 participants, divided into 12 teams, vied for the prestigious first prize, with only a point separating first and second place. The winners, “Waved and Gone” walked away with a bottle of fizz each, the coveted title, and hopefully a boost in confidence regarding their general knowledge!
The title for Best Team Name went to “Les Quizarables,” whilst the wooden spoon was awarded to a team of current parents who, last year, had finished second to last. Sadly, they failed to achieve their sole aim of improving on their previous performance and therefore asked to remain anonymous!
We look forward to seeing everyone again next September!
