An author visit with a difference

Author Chris Bradford crashed into King’s last week to deliver a talk with a difference.

As a method writer, Chris immerses himself in the world of his characters before embarking on a new series of books and, when he spoke to Removes and Shells about his Bodyguard series of books, he demonstrated some of the skills he had learned when he became a qualified professional bodyguard.

Earlier in the day, Chris held a creative writing workshop with a group of Shells pupils. Focusing on his Ninja series of books, pupils impressed the author with their versions of an opening paragraph to one of his books.

Head Librarian, Jodie Brooks, thanked Chris for his visit.

She said: “It was fantastic to see the pupils so engaged with Chris’ talk in the Vanbrugh Theatre, and I enjoyed hearing so many creative ideas flowing in the workshop earlier.

“The length of the queue to buy books and speak to Chris at the end of the day was testament to a really successful day!”
