Best GCSE and A Level results in Chester!

Students and staff are celebrating after The King’s School came out top in Chester for both GCSE and A Levels results this year.

The Telegraph’s league table of results for independent schools across the UK places King’s as the best performing school in the city. For A Levels, King’s is also top in Cheshire and the best co-ed in the North West.

Of the 106 A Level students, 45 achieved all A*/A grades and most will now be heading off to their first choice university, including six girls and two boys to Oxford and Cambridge. Nine students have confirmed places to study medicine, dentistry or veterinary science.

Overall, 87% of grades were graded A* – B for the third consecutive year, with 62.8% at A*- A grade.

Our GCSE students put in an incredible performance, with 18% of exams sat with the new grading achieving the top level 9, compared to 4.3% nationally, 44% of all grades were at 9-8 (A*), 72% A*-A and 92% A*-B grades

King’s girls put in a fantastic performance with 25.4% of their new GCSEs graded 9 and 58% 9-8 grade (A*).
