Two rowing camps and a whole club regatta meant that the Easter break was a busy one for our athletes on the water.
In the first week of the Easter Holidays, sixty J14s enjoyed a productive Rowing Camp on the Dee.
Activities included exciting races on bike ergos and technical work, as well as plenty of time on the water, making the most of the great weather and preparing for races later in the term.
The following week, more than fifty J15-J18s travelled down to Llandegfedd Reservoir in South Wales for their camp.
During the week, skills were developed and selection for summer crews took place. There was also a whole club regatta in which the year groups were mixed, with the coaches even joining in the racing!
At the beginning of the week, the athletes also competed at the Head of the Dart, a 15km race from Totnes to Dartmouth.
Head Rowing Coach, Matt Jump, praised the athletes for their performance at the race.
He said: “It was a very successful day with all crews performing well.
“The performance of the day came from the Senior Girls Squad of Isabel Sykes (L6GLA), Mica Hird (U6GLA), Lily Wood (U6DUT) and Beth Aldridge (L6BRD) who secured the headship.”
