Careers Breakfast: Anna Chadwick (OKS 2019)

It was a pleasure to welcome back former student Anna Chadwick (OKS 2019) to speak at this morning’s careers breakfast.

Anna is currently in the second year of the Ocado Retail Marketing Graduate Scheme and pupils from all year groups were interested to hear about her experiences since leaving King’s.

She joined the graduate scheme after completing her degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge.

With many aspiring Oxbridge applicants in attendance this morning, Anna shared valuable advice from her own experience of applying to Cambridge. She encouraged pupils to go wider than their A Level studies, make the most of every co-curricular opportunity at King’s, and to commit themselves to the rigorous application process.

Anna gave a fascinating insight into her work at Ocado, including how she uses social media to increase awareness of the brand, the importance of measuring and reporting engagement, and how much work can go into one TikTok video.

Head of Careers, Dr Hensman, thanked Anna for joining us as part of our Next Steps initiative that gives current students the opportunity to connect with recent Alumni.

He said: “I am delighted that Anna could join us today and I know that our pupils will have really benefited from Anna’s insight and experience. She has generously offered her contact details so that pupils can get in touch with her with questions about Cambridge applications, questions about careers in Marketing and general questions about graduate schemes.”

Many thanks to Anna who, after the careers breakfast, spent time conducting mock interviews with this year’s Oxbridge applicants.
