It was a pleasure to welcome former pupil Charlotte Seddon (OKS 2011) for our most recent Careers Breakfast.
Charlotte is the Planning and Supply Manager for Bio&Me, an innovative and highly successful food brand start-up based in Chester.
After studying Theology at university, Charlotte admitted that she didn’t know what she wanted to do next but told pupils that the communication skills and confidence that she gained during her degree studies are now crucial in her current role.
Pupils were interested to learn about start-ups, and that Bio&Me only had five other employees when she joined, but has now grown to more than 25. They were also surprised to hear that seaweed is an important ingredient in a breakfast bar (it provides calcium!)
As well as the usual pastries and juice, pupils enjoyed a second course to their breakfast as they enjoyed the Bio&Me blueberry and cocoa bars!
Head of Futures, Clare Holland, thanked Charlotte for her time. She said: “It was great to hear first-hand from Charlotte about the skills that employers really value – such as communication, adaptability and problem-solving – as this is something that I often talk to pupils about myself.”
