An end of season celebration

The King’s 2nd XI football squad met up last week to have a final get together. The 2nd XI are the most successful team in school this season with an impressive 28 wins, 5 draws and just 2 losses.

Joint players of the season, voted by the players, were awarded to Dominic Hudson (U6GRO) and Lewis Basford (L6GLA).

Captain Ethan Simmonds (U6FOX) presented, on behalf of the team, a celebratory bottle of bubbly to Manager Mr Morris.

It was a sad and premature end to the season and a couple of players were missing because they were self-isolating but it was great to get everybody together.

Hopefully, the squad will get together for an end of season celebration when things get back to normal.

Mr Morris thanked Ethan for his fantastic efforts as Captain and congratulated the squad on their terrific achievements, they were, in his words, a delight to coach and manage. He added it was an honour to be a part in their success. The squad represented the school, themselves and their parents admirably both on and off the pitch.

The squad consists of:

Jake Liddle (5DUT)
Max Jackson (5WAL)
Max Lloyd (5WER)
Seb Middleton (U6DUT)
Austin Webber (U6GLA)
Dominic Hudson (U6GRO)
Peter Williamson (L6GLA)
Ethan Simmonds (U6FOX) (Captain)
Lewis Basford (L6GLA)
George Poshin (U6GLA)
Henry Bell (L6WAL)
Felix Wright (5LES)
Oliver Melville (L6GRO)
Thomas Dawson (U6GRO)

Good luck and best wishes to all from Mr Morris, especially to the Upper Sixth Form leavers.
