Entrepreneurial inspiration for pupils - The King's School Chester

Entrepreneurial inspiration for pupils

We are very grateful to Nick Owens from Chester Business Club who recently visited King’s to speak to students about the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship and setting up a business.

Addressing students who have just received their loans for this year’s Tycoon Enterprise Challenge, Nick encouraged them by drawing on his own experiences, as well as his wealth of knowledge from being involved in Chester Business Club.

Nick’s key message to students striving to make a profit from their small enterprise was simple and motivating: “Go for it!”

Reflecting on the visit, Clare Rule, Head of Futures, said: “It was fantastic for our students to hear first-hand from a real entrepreneur.

“Experiences like this help them build confidence, think creatively and understand that taking informed risks is vital in growing a new business.”

Nick is pictured here with Freddie, Alex and Henry from Thirds who were keen to discuss developing their own business ideas. For Freddie and Alex, it was an opportunity to reconnect with Nick and fill him in on their business after they won the Vision Award at the 2025 Chester Business Club Young Person Awards last summer.
