First talk from our new Patron of Reading, Mike Revell

Mike Revell, our new Patron of Reading, has visited students from Removes in the Senior School and students in Willow Lodge today.  Mike gave a talk to the Removes about his inspiration behind his novels and why he enjoys being an author. Mike also awarded prizes for the Removes Summer Reading Challenge, there were certainly some fantastic entries! 

Mike then went on to talk to Willow Lodge students in their assembly to introduce himself and to get them started on Book Bingo for this year. Book Bingo was created by our previous Patron of Reading, Non Pratt, whereby students have different topics or genres of books that they can tick off on their bingo sheet. Once they have completed their Book Bingo they receive a prize. This year, Mike has chosen the topics to include on the bingo sheet, and they include “A book with a penguin on the cover”, “A story set in space” and “A book your parents love”. Our Head Librarian, Mrs Harding, will visit the Juniors and Infants weekly to give out prizes.
