Five star success at Chester Regatta!

Our rowing club was delighted to race at the recent Chester Regatta, the oldest regatta in the world.

During the morning and afternoon, a total of 42 crews competed at the annual regatta, 5 of which came away with category wins:

  • Open men’s coxed fours
  • Open men’s coxless pairs
  • Open men’s eights
  • J15 boys coxed fours
  • Open Women’s pairs

The majority of these winning crews will be moving forward towards Henley Women’s Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta in the next few weeks. The school and club wish them luck in their progress towards these events.

The club had a fantastic turnout of over 200 parents, athletes and supporters to celebrate the year so far and to watch the racing. In the evening following the regatta, the club enjoyed an evening of rowing festivities as Olivia Whitlam joined the club to coach four of younger athletes. There was also the annual family regatta followed by the club BBQ. In addition to this year’s events, the club hosted an hour rowathon event, the “Row for Rohan” which over 50 athletes and parents raced in, raising over £800.

Many thanks to the organisers of the Chester Regatta, as well as the KSRCPA who supported both the regatta during the day and the numerous club events in the evening. As ever, your support is greatly appreciated.
