Football: Medals for U11s at St George’s Park

The U11 boys have ended a successful 2022-23 season in style with a bronze medal in the ISA National Finals at St George’s Park.

After qualifying in second place at the North of England regional tournament in February, the boys made the journey to the English FA’s National Football Centre in Staffordshire to take on the country’s 25 leading ISA schools.

In the first round of the tournament, King’s placed second in their group and advanced to elite Cup round of the competition.

Finishing second in their group in the Cup round, the boys went on to play against Langley Prep in the match for third and fourth place, eventually taking the bronze medal.

Mr Spellman coaches the U11 football team and was full of praise for their performance.

He said: “King’s is now officially the third best U11 football school in ISA (who represent 608 schools!), which is an absolutely magnificent achievement in our first season competing at ISA level.

“It has been a pleasure to coach these boys this year and I am so pleased they have had this experience of playing at St George’s Park; it is something that they will remember for a very long time to come.”

Congratulations to the team:
