On Friday, 3 October, excitement levels were high in Willow Lodge as the children welcomed a group of very important visitors.
Grandparents Day is an annual highlight in the infant school calendar, giving our youngest children an opportunity to show off everything they have learned in their new school since the beginning of term.
As well as baking tasty treats, the children had also spent time practising a short concert for their guests. Willow Lodge Hall was filled with joyous singing as the visitors joined in with old favourites such as I’m a Little Teapot, matching their grandchildren’s energy and proving that they still knew all of the words – and actions!
The visitors enjoyed their visit enormously and thanked the children and staff for a memorable day:
“We have had a really lovely afternoon. The school is so colourful and welcoming! The concert was amazing.”
“Thank you so much for all of your care and dedication. We have had a wonderful afternoon.”
“So lovely to join in with my grandson on grandparents’ day.”
“Thanks for having us! Such a great opportunity to meet the children who were all so brilliant.”
“A very special day – thank you for bringing sunshine to a rainy day!”
