Over the Easter holiday, more than fifty J4 pupils enjoyed the sights and sounds of Barcelona, following an action-packed itinerary that took in all the sights!
As well as visiting famous landmarks such as Sagrada Familia, the famous Gothic Quarter and, for the football fans, the unmistakable Camp Nou, home to FC Barcelona, the pupils also had plenty of time to soak up the culture.
Highlights of the trip included a hike up Mount Tibidabo for breathtaking views of the city and a lesson at Cookiteca where pupils cooked up a storm, whipping up traditional tasty Spanish dishes such as tortilla, pan tumaca, paëlla and crema catalana.
Mr Spellman organised the trip, which takes place every year for our oldest junior school children. He said: “Barcelona is a wonderful city and the children enjoyed exploring everything it has to offer.
“It was also a great opportunity for the children to practise their Spanish and Miss Anderson was very proud to hear many of them using their language skills in the shops.”
The children returned tired but happy from the trip, and parents enjoyed hearing stories of their many Spanish adventures.
Mrs Hamer’s daughter took part in the trip and she praised the staff for their hard work and commitment.
She said: “Purdey had the most wonderful time. She came back on cloud nine, speaking Spanish and full of wonderful stories about her time away. It was clear that so much hard work went into giving the children a truly memorable experience, thank you.”
