Hockey: Girls U12s celebrate successful season

As the hockey season draws to a close, the U12 girls are celebrating a successful start to their Senior School playing career.

Being able to field two sides for this age group for the majority of the season has given the girls valuable playing time and has seen them grow together as a squad.

Both the A-team and B-team ended the season as Chester and District cup winners, and the A-team reached the final of the Cheshire Cup, missing out only on penalties to King’s Macclesfield.

Director of Hockey, Simon Egerton, has been very impressed with the U12 girls this season.

He said: “The U12s record this season has been fantastic; the A-team have played 18 matches, winning 16 and drawing two. There is no doubt that this is a hugely talented year group with a very bright future. I can’t wait to see what they achieve next year and beyond!”

Outside of school, five U12 girls have also recently represented Chester in the Cheshire In2Hockey tournament and are looking forward to the North West finals in April. Well done to Sasha Bates (RMRH), Lucy Graham (RMRE), Florence Davies (RMJG), Emily Singleton (RMJG) and Chloe Van Kalles (J4M).
