Hockey: U12 boys achieve historic quadruple

Congratulations to the U12 boys hockey team who have had a fantastic season, retaining the North of England title and achieving an historic quadruple – North West indoor and outdoor champions and North indoor and outdoor champions.

The team travelled to Leeds University for the North outdoor finals and took on the top seven teams from across the North West, Yorkshire and the North East to defend their title.

Following a clean sweep of wins in the group round, they faced King’s Macclesfield in the semi-final. Another win set up the final against Yarm in a repeat of the 2020 and 2023 finals.

A 3-0 win in the final saw The King’s School Chester retain the U12 North title and complete the full complement of indoor and outdoor championships.

Dr Ashcroft is the team coach and was full of praise for the boys.

He said: “Across the North and North West finals, these boys have played ten and won ten matches, scoring an incredible 42 goals and conceding just three.

“They are a talented team of players and I look forward to seeing what they achieve next season.”
