Hockey: U12 Boys are North West Champions

Congratulations to our U12 boys who have been crowned 2026 North West champions!

Playing at King’s Macclesfield, they grew in confidence and strength throughout the day and overcame initial disappointment to regain the North West title.

The first three matches of the day left them in second place in the pool, meaning that they faced a strong Sandbach side in the semi-final.

King’s trailed for most of the match but two impressive late goals from Thomas Evans (RMJR) sealed a dramatic win.

In the final, the King’s team again trailed to a talented Altrincham Grammar School team but dug in and fought back with goals from Henry Davies (RMRM) and Enzo Masters (RMMB) to take the win.

The team was accompanied by their coach, Dr Chris Ashcroft, who was proud of their performance.

He said: “The tournament got off to a rocky start for the team and we didn’t start as strong as we would have wanted but I was proud of the boys’ determination today. They came from behind in both the semi-final and the final, never giving up and working together as a team.

“I am thrilled for them that they won the North West title today and look forward to the North Final will be hosted at King’s in March.”
