Hockey: U14 girls win Cheshire Cup - The King's School Chester

Hockey: U14 girls win Cheshire Cup

Congratulations to our U14 girls who won the Cheshire Cup at last week’s indoor hockey final.

On Monday, 12 January, the girls made a winning start to the year with decisive victories against King’s Macclesfield and Queen’s to lift the cup.

Just days after the U15 girls won the Chester and District indoor title, many of the same girls took to the pitch for the U14 team, making it two titles in the space of one week.

Director of Hockey, Simon Egerton, congratulated them on their win.

He said: “Eight of the girls who won the Chester and District for the U15s in the previous week also played for the U14s to take the Cheshire Cup, putting in the same impressive effort in both matches.

“Starting 2026 with two regional titles is a great indication of the strength of girls’ hockey at King’s and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.”
