MCC hosted at King’s

In recent years, the MCC vs King’s First XI has become one of the highlights of our cricketing calendar, and this year was no exception. Two Old King’s Scholars were part of the visiting team and it was a pleasure for our current First XI to welcome back – and play against – Nicholas Guest (OKS 2006) and David Atkin (OKS 1994).

Choosing to bat first, the visitors made 167-8, declaring at 52 overs following an excellent bowling and fielding display by King’s.

MCC then bowled King’s out for 92 with some wiley bowling, despite an impressive 26 not out by Abhishek Aravind (L6WAL).

At the end of the match, Aravind was awarded MCC Spirit of Cricket Player of the Match by MCC captain Nick Guest (OKS 2006).

Director of Cricket, Mark Baker, thanked the teams for an excellent day: “Huge thanks to the MCC for visiting King’s and giving us an excellent day of cricket.

“As always, days like this are only possible because of the hard work behind the scenes of our incredible grounds, facilities and catering staff, and I would like to echo the thanks that our captain, Harry Graham, gave during his lunchtime speech to them and to the umpires for their time and expertise.”
