Our recent House Art competition in the Senior School was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the unique spirit of each of our eight Houses.
Pupils were tasked with designing a piece of art inspired by their House motto, using only one 10cm x 10cm piece of card each and a blue biro. No additional materials or colours were permitted, encouraging everyone to think creatively to produce an eye-catching piece of art. The main rule was that every pupil in the House had to contribute to the final artwork.
Designs ranged from intricate patterns and clever shading to imaginative interpretations of mottos. The common thread between all of the final pieces was collaboration; each House made certain to reflect the contributions of each pupil, turning individual squares into a cohesive piece of art.
After judging, Fox House were declared the winners. Their slogan is Opportunity in Knowledge and their artwork stood out for its creativity and the intricacy of the design.
Judges commented on the exceptional level of teamwork and artistic skill demonstrated across all Houses: “We have been so impressed by the collaborative pieces of art created by every single one of our Houses. A lot of thought, creativity and hard work went into each piece, with each House having to think about what their motto means to them.”
