Well done to all students who recently took the UK Maths Trust’s Senior Mathematical Challenge (SMC).
The SMC is a 90-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK.
The paper comprises of 25 questions that are designed to make students think and use advanced problem-solving skills. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
Students performed incredibly well, achieving an impressive number of bronze, silver and gold certificates.
The students who gained gold also qualified for the follow-on round.
Congratulations go also to Karol Ghibaudo, a student from Catholic High School who sat the paper at King’s. He achieved gold and we look forward to welcoming him back for the follow-on round.
Congratulations to everyone who achieved a certificate, some of whom are pictured here.
