Indoor Hockey: King’s takes first and second place in county competitions

On Monday, in a busy afternoon of sport, King’s hosted the U13 Chester and District Indoor Hockey Tournament and the U14 County Indoor Tournament.

The King’s U13 team ended the day as tournament champions and the U14s took second place overall in their competition.

In the face of tough opposition from Tarporley, Bishop Heber and Abbey Gate College, the U13s played exceptionally to win every match 3-0 and take the tournament title. Teacher Miss Halstead, who coaches the team, was delighted with the team’s performance.

She said: “The girls demonstrated fabulous teamwork and didn’t concede a single goal. They should be very proud of the way they played to win the tournament.”

The U14s made a strong start to their competition with some outstanding play and a convincing 4-0 win against The Grange School. Losing only to a strong Queen’s side, the girls went on to take second place overall.

Miss Halstead summed up the day: “To come away with a first place and a second place is fantastic! All of the girls played brilliantly today and did King’s proud.”
