EGGSellent designs protect the eggs

At the end of the Lent term, Infant 1 children used impressive teamwork to create protective cases for chocolate eggs so that they could survive being dropped by Miss Gardiner.

They were challenged to design attractive, protective packaging and quickly set to work to delegate roles within their teams.

With a variety of materials at their disposal, the teams used a mixture of scrunched-up newspaper, cotton wool and fabric to provide the egg’s protection before turning their attention to making their containers look good.

The children waited with bated breath as Miss Gardiner dropped each container from height, and were delighted that all of the eggs survived the impact.

Miss Gardiner, one of the Infant 1 class teachers, was delighted with their efforts.

She said: “This was a fun task that required the children to use many different skills. I was particularly impressed to see them working together so well, delegating roles within their teams and helping each other to achieve their goal.

“All of the eggs survived, which is a fantastic reflection on the care they all took to protect their eggs ad, in addition, the containers were all decorated beautifully.”
