J4 pupils excel in e-safety roles

Eight of our J4 pupils have recently been appointed as Junior School e-safety prefects.

The appointments have been made in time for Safer Internet Day, which will be marked in school on Tuesday, 8 February.

The focus of this year’s Safer Internet Day is respect and relationships online, particularly within the context of gaming.

Each pair of prefects has responsibility for communicating about e-safety to different year groups. Their first job this week was to deliver an assembly about online respect.

Using resources provided by Safer Internet Day, the prefects led discussions with their groups about what they enjoy doing online and used a game called “Game On” to encourage their peers and younger pupils to think about how to interact with others in a safe, responsible and respectful way.

The prefects are looking forward to continuing their work in their new roles:

E-safety prefects with responsibility for J1:  Joshua Hain and Issy Hughes

E-safety prefects with responsibility for J2:  Huw Bellis and Seth Brander

E-safety prefects with responsibility for J3: Omar Ghatwary and Alex Sedwell

E-safety prefects with responsibility for J4: James Evans & Morgan Jones
