On Sunday 3rd March, our Rowers travelled to Northwich Rowing Club to compete for selection into the North West Rowing Team.
The 1000m time trial was held on the Northwich Head race course and the winners of each category gained selection to represent the North West at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta (JIRR) held in Peterborough on 27th April. We were greeted with some wet and cold weather but was no hindrance to our trialling athletes, we took the conditions in our stride and held some great form throughout the day.

The JIRR is for J14-J16 rowers an a range of boat classes, both rowing and sculling. The UK is split into 12 regions and the competition is to gain points within each boat class (1st place = maximum points and 12 place = least points) We have been successful in this competition in the past and look forward to competing with our selected athletes.
