Junior Librarians’ special story time at Willow Lodge

On Monday, 29 January our Junior Librarians treated Willow Lodge pupils to a very special story time in celebration of National Storytelling Week.

The annual event, which is supported by the National Literacy Trust, seeks to celebrate the power of sharing stories.

Each Willow Lodge class was treated to a short story, confidently read by one of our Junior Librarians, all of whom are in J4 (year 6).

Hannah Gardiner, Deputy Head of Willow Lodge said: “Annual events like National Storytelling Week give pupils from different areas of the school to come together and share something special.

“The children were delighted to be read stories by the older J4 pupils who were confident in their storytelling ability. We’re now looking forward to welcoming Senior School librarians later on this week to see what stories they have up their sleeves.”
