Keeping King’s (and Britain) tidy

Deputy Head of Willow Lodge Mrs Callaghan recently set the infants a challenge to keep their local environment tidy.

Litter picking is always popular on Outdoor Classroom Day so Mrs Callaghan knew that her mini environmentalists wouldn’t let her down, however even she was surprised with the enthusiasm the children showed: “I always take part in the Great British Spring Clean and I asked the children if they wanted to join in this year.

“I was delighted that both parents and pupils embraced the challenge and I received so many great photos of our pupils picking litter at local shops, in the countryside and even at the beach!”

The infants have become a regular sight around school in their hi-vis vests and they will continue with their litter campaign around the grounds until the end of term.
