King’s Chef Steve takes his menus stateside

We are very proud of our Executive Chef, Stephen Wolstenholme, who has been chosen by Sodexo UK and Ireland to take part in a cultural exchange programme to the USA.

Educational establishments, including the Universities of Milwaukee and Jamestown, will benefit from Steve’s passion and expertise when he shares his recipes and skills with their catering staff during his two week stay.

Catering Manager, Matthew Fergusson, said: “Steve has worked at King’s for more than five years and it is because of his dedication and drive for continuous improvement that students enjoy such delicious, varied and nutritious lunches every day.”

As part his successful application for the exchange programme, Steve impressed the judges with sample menus that included many of the tasty treats that feature on the King’s menu, such as Coronation Quiche, colourful salads, Bread and Butter Pudding and Eton Mess.

In addition, Steve spoke about his passion for creating incredible food for children, including the innovative “Powering Performance” project that continues to benefit pupils at King’s.

He said: “It has been very rewarding to see the results of the “Powering Performance” project at King’s.

“I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with American colleagues when I travel to the USA, and hopefully bringing back a few ideas too.”

We wish Steve all the best and look forward to hearing all about his adventures across the pond.
