West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce has recognised The King’s School Chester as a Young Chamber School, marking an exciting step in strengthening links between the school and the local business community.
The Young Chamber initiative was developed by West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce to help bridge the gap between education and employment by connecting schools and colleges with local businesses.
As a Young Chamber School, The King’s School Chester will benefit from tailored support designed to improve pupils’ employability skills. This includes opportunities such as mock interviews, careers talks, enterprise projects, networking events and workshops led by local employers. These activities help students build confidence, understand different career pathways and develop the practical skills valued by employers.
The partnership also supports the development of key employability competencies aligned with The Universal Framework, ensuring that pupils leave school equipped with the communication, problem-solving and professional skills needed for the modern workplace.
Head of Futures, Clare Holland, received the official plaque and certificate from the Chamber on behalf of the school.
She said: “This recognition reflects The King’s School Chester’s commitment to preparing students not only for academic success, but also for life beyond school through meaningful engagement with the business community.
“I am excited by the possibilities that working closely with the Chamber and its network of local employers will open up to our pupils.”
