King’s welcomes HMC visit

On Friday, 25 November Headmaster, George Hartley, welcomed Dr Simon Hyde, General Secretary of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC) to King’s.

Dr Hyde met with Mr Hartley before enjoying a tour of the school with our Head of School team, Jack Hayter (U6FOX), Hannah Evans (U6BRD) and Mahima Hansoge (U6WAL).

Founded in 1869 as the worlds first Heads’ association, the HMC is an association of Headteachers from some of the world’s best schools with a membership of 300 Heads in the UK and Ireland, and a further sixty international members.

King’s is proud to be a HMC school, and that Mr Hartley plays such an active role in the association as Chair of the HMC Membership sub-committee and a HMC Board Director,

HMC exists to help members and their schools grow and develop, as well as to encourage and share innovation in schools. A rigorous accreditation process helps to ensure and maintain quality standards in HMC schools. In addition, HMC schools are committed to outreach and partnership work.

Of his visit, Dr Hyde said “Thank you to George Hartley for his warm welcome. Particular thanks also to Jack, Hannah and Mahima for a great tour of the school and to all the staff for their time.”
