Hugo Malalana (I1WD) is on his way to achieving his Black Belt at UTA Taekwondo Chester after passing his Blue Belt graduation.
Hugo has been attending the club for over a year and continued to train on Zoom throughout lockdown.
His instructor, Master Richard Jones, is extremely proud of Hugo’s achievement: “We all know that lockdown has been difficult for everyone, especially younger children, so to see Hugo stand up in front of the grading examiners to perform his moves, was fantastic.”
Taekowndo is a Korean martial art and as part of his assessment, Hugo also had to answer some questions in Korean.
Hugo’s parents thanked Master Jones for continuing to motivate Hugo throughout lockdown and encouraging him to always try hard.
Well done Hugo – we are looking forward to seeing your Black Belt!
