Mrs Gareh’s virtual assembly

This morning our Head of Removes, Mrs Gareh, hosted the term’s first virtual assembly for Removes (Year 7).

Of course it looked quite different to the usual assembly as pupils are using remote learning this term. Mrs Gareh hosted the assembly in a stunning local location which currently looks like a magical winter wonderland, a local walk which she discovered during the first lockdown last year.

Mrs Gareh started the virtual assembly by reminding Removes that their tutors are still here to support pupils throughout this time. The key message of the virtual assembly was to advise pupils to make sure that they have time away from technology during this time of online learning. Whether that be drawing, painting, or baking, pupils should try and do something that they enjoy away from the screen.

Mrs Gareh has advised pupils to find something, or somewhere, to rest and relax as this will be important to help switch off from pressures of the lockdown. Although it is important for pupils to ensure they continue with their learning, she encourages pupils to try and get outside during lunchtime or near the end of the school day whilst it’s still light to enjoy a local place outside away from technology.

Mrs Gareh’s virtual assemblies will run for Removes each Monday during this period of remote learning.
