More than twenty students from King’s, Blacon High School and Bishops’ Blue Coat High School have been taking part in an F1 in Schools Masterclass through our Chester Schools Together partnership.
The sessions have taken place on Saturday mornings in our Design and Technology building, led by Head of Department Mr Curtis.
The F1 in Schools initiative is to help challenge the perceptions of science, technology, engineering and maths by creating a fun and exciting learning environment for young people to develop an informed view about careers in engineering, Formula 1, science, marketing and technology.
Working in four teams, the students have been introduced to specialist CAD/CAM software to collaborate and design miniature compressed air-powered cars made from F1 model block.
They have now manufactured the models and will test and race them in their final session next week!
