Congratulations to Fourth Year pupils Harry McKenna (4BRD) and Shivesh Kaviethasan (4DUT), who have both achieved outstanding success in the British Physics Olympiad Junior Physics Challenge.
The optional online competition, which attracts thousands of students from across the UK, is designed to challenge and inspire young physicists through a series of demanding physics questions. This year, more than 16,000 students took part.
Harry and Shivesh both earned Gold Medals, placing them in the top 18% of all participants. Special congratulations go to Shivesh, whose exceptional score of 90% was a particularly impressive achievement.
Dr Bosworth, Head of Physics, commended the boys on their achievement: “Competitions like the British Physics Olympiad encourage students to think beyond the classroom, developing their confidence in the subject and giving them a deeper appreciation for physics.
“At King’s, pupils have many opportunities like this to challenge themselves, explore their interests and fulfil their potential. Harry and Shivesh’s achievements are a fantastic example of what can be accomplished with a little curiosity and dedication.”
