On Saturday, 11 October, 14 crews from the King’s School Rowing Club (KSRC) raced at the annual Agecroft Head in Salford.
Over a 3.2km course, the KSRC boats enjoyed huge success on the water with half of the fielded crews winning their respective events and all boats finishing in the top three.
For the first VIIIs, the event was a great opportunity to compete ahead of their trip to Boston where they will race in the famous Head of the Charles River next weekend.
New Director of Rowing, Nick Wells, enjoyed his first outing to the Agecroft Head: “It was a superbly organised event that was enjoyed by rowers, coaches and parents alike. Thanks to the coaching team and to parents for their incredible support of all 60 athletes – what a fantastic community we have here in the King’s School Rowing Club.”
Good luck to the rowers who are racing in Boston next week, and to the other member of the club who will enjoy a five-day training camp in Nottingham over the half-term break.
