Rowing: King’s rowers represent Wales at Home International Regatta

Four athletes from the King’s School Chester Rowing Club (KSCRC) enjoyed another successful weekend on the water when they represented Wales in the Home International Rowing Regatta (HIRR) in London.

Just one week on from their British Championship win, Eleanor Williams (U6DUT) and Lucie Thornton (L6LES) swapped their King’s kit for a Wales unisuit, and were joined by Ben Cooper (U6DUT) and Daniel Burman (L6GLA) in the capital. 

The Home International Rowing Regatta brings together athletes from each of the home nations to compete to earn points for their country. Ahead of the event, the Welsh squad took part in a week-long training camp, providing a valuable opportunity for the King’s rowers to train alongside and get to know fellow athletes and coaches from across Wales.

Facing strong competition on the water, all four students delivered impressive performances; their contributions helped the Welsh Junior Men’s team secure first place overall, while the Junior Women’s team finished second.
