Rowing: Northwich Autumn Head - The King's School Chester

Rowing: Northwich Autumn Head

On Sunday, 9 November, J15 athletes took to the River Weaver for the Northwich Autumn Head.

Racing in the Women’s J15 and Open J15 coxed quad, and double sculls, this was an opportunity for every pupil to put their training to the test against other local schools and clubs.

Director of Rowing, Nick Wells, accompanied the crews to the competition. He said: ” What a great day on the water! Our young athletes put in a brilliant performance and can be really proud of themselves.

“How lucky we are to have such brilliant venues on our doorstep where we can test ourselves against fantastic local competition.”

A total of 6 quads and two double sculls represented The King’s School Rowing Club with the one each of the boys’ and girls’ quads finishing in second place.

Nick Wells concluded: “There was fantastic support from everyone, both for each other and for the other competitors. Great teamwork, a fantastic atmosphere and lots of great racing!”
