Rowing: U19 GB Rowing Trials

The Great Britain Rowing Trials proved to be an exciting and valuable experience for four athletes from the King’s School Chester Rowing Club (KSCRC) earlier this month.

We are very proud of Eleanor Williams (U6DUT), Lucie Thornton (L6LES), Oliver Wells (U6BRD) and Adam Gloyne-Phillips (L6DUT) were invited to race at the prestigious event, which was held in Caversham at the National Training Centre, home of GB Rowing.

Representing the club with determination and professionalism, both pairs delivered strong performances against some of the country’s top athletes, making the most of the opportunity to compete in such an elite setting.

The women’s pair secured an impressive 19th place finish, whilst the men’s pair finished 24th overall; both outstanding efforts in a highly competitive field.

Director of Rowing, Nick Wells, congratulated the athletes on their achievement.

He said: “Competing on a national stage is never easy, but our crews rose to the occasion. To be invited to trial at the GB National Training Centre is a significant milestone, and all four athletes gave a fantastic account of themselves both on and off the water.

“I am immensely proud of Eleanor, Lucie, Oliver and Adam as we now look ahead to the April Pairs Regatta trials, and wish them every success as they continue to work hard and push themselves.”
