Senior Physics Challenge

Well done to the 21 Lower Sixth Physicists who took part in the recent Senior Physics Challenge.

Organised by the British Physics Olympiad, the competition is aimed at students in their first year of A level Physics to give them an opportunity to stretch their problem-solving skills and help them grow in confidence in the subject.

All 21 students were awarded a certificate for taking part, with four pupils obtaining a Silver certificate, and one obtaining Gold. Congratulations to these pupils:

  • Sam Herbert (L6FOX) – Gold
  • Ben Rofe (L6GLA) – Silver
  • Chayil Oyedeji (L6LES) – Silver
  • Luca Aldescu (L6FOX) – Silver
  • Tanmay Madhusudhan (L6GRO) – Silver

Head of Physics, Dr Bosworth, extended his congratulations to the young Physicists: “This is a challenging, national level competition and all of our Lower Sixth Physics students gave creditworthy performances. Competitions like this are an excellent opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills to novel problems and to give them experience of approaching the subject at a higher level. We are extremely proud of them all.”
